Ha ha… Yeah, both your comments are entirely true.
Actually this also looks a bit like the backdrop for a sidescrolling beat ’em up from the late 80s / early 90s. (Except obviously more beautiful). Just needs two blocky sprites in the foreground knocking “Hell’s Bells” out of each other.
